Viractal’s Major Update Adds Sword Maiden Yggdra from Yggdra Union and More

Developer STING has released version 1.3.0 of its board game RPG, Viractal: Will You Trust Your Party?, introducing a crossover character from the studio’s classic tactical RPG catalog. The major update, titled “The Princess of a Lost Kingdom,” officially adds Sword Maiden Yggdra from Yggdra Union as a playable hero. Alongside this crossover addition, the update introduces a brand-new endgame stage, a high-risk card type designed for advanced encounters, and multiple system adjustments.

Viractal: Will You Trust Your Party? is a co-op tabletop adventure game where players take turns moving around procedurally generated maps, battling enemies, and completing quests. The game supports online multiplayer and features the Devil’s Whisper betrayal system, which challenges players to balance cooperative survival with hidden personal objectives. Supported languages include Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean.

Who Is Sword Maiden Yggdra?

Yggdra Union: We’ll Never Fight Alone originally debuted on the Game Boy Advance and PlayStation Portable as the second episode in STING’s Dept. Heaven series, later receiving a Nintendo Switch port on July 27, 2023. As the Princess of the Kingdom of Fantasinia, Yggdra is a central figure in STING’s tactical history. In Viractal, she arrives via Bahoko’s second Otherworld Summoning event, wielding her signature holy sword, the Gran Centurio.

In terms of gameplay, Yggdra is a support-focused character who empowers her entire party while maintaining the defensive and offensive stats required to fight on the front lines. Her playstyle revolves around coordination and positioning, reflecting her tactical origins. Players can unlock Yggdra by utilizing the game’s Alchemy Workshop system.

Yggdra’s primary passive ability is Union. This mechanic increases the offensive power of the entire party when players coordinate their elemental attributes with those of their allies. By matching elements during combat rounds, the party gains scaling damage bonuses, rewarding tight communication and deliberate hand management in multiplayer sessions.

Yggdra Union Tactical Cards Come to Viractal

Beyond her character model and passive abilities, Yggdra’s inclusion brings several iconic Yggdra Union Tactical Cards into Viractal as usable Skill Cards. These cards adapt the movement and combat rules of the classic tactical RPG into Viractal’s board-based card system. The newly added cards provide various utility and combat effects that mirror their original console counterparts.

Yggdra’s ultimate ability is her Trump Card, Crusade. When activated, Crusade combines the attack power of every single ally’s current hand into a single, high-damage finishing blow. The mechanic lets teams to pool their resources for massive burst damage against bosses, though it requires teammates to hold high-value cards in their hands rather than playing them early.

Sky Harmonia+ : What Is the New Hard Mode Stage?

Version 1.3.0 introduces Sky Harmonia+, a high-difficulty endgame stage set high among the clouds. This stage serves as the next progression tier for high-level players, directly following the Dragon’s Garden+ stage in difficulty. To access Sky Harmonia+, players must unlock it through the Alchemy Workshop using resources gathered from prior runs.

The defining feature of Sky Harmonia+ is the introduction of Ambush Tiles. These are specially colored platforms distributed across the board. When players land on or pass through these tiles, nearby enemies immediately trigger a preemptive strike, attacking the party before the players have an opportunity to take their actions. This mechanic forces players to carefully plan their routes and movement rolls to avoid high-damage traps.

In addition to the Ambush Tiles, existing enemies and bosses encountered in Sky Harmonia+ have received strategic enhancements. These foes utilize advanced attack patterns, carry higher base statistics, and deploy status effects more frequently, demanding optimized deck builds and coordinated team play to overcome.

What Are Instant Cards?

To help players tackle the increased difficulty of Sky Harmonia+, STING has implemented a new card classification: Instant Cards. These cards are easily identified by a distinct ◆ symbol on their face. They are designed specifically for high-difficulty encounters where immediate, high-impact utility is required to survive a bad turn.

Instant Cards carry significantly stronger base effects than standard Skill Cards, but they come with two major limitations. First, they cannot be upgraded at any point during a run. Second, once an Instant Card is played, it is permanently removed from the player’s deck for the remainder of the match, preventing players from cycling powerful effects repeatedly.

This design forces a strategic choice between sustained deck efficiency and immediate burst utility. Players on Steam have discussed how these cards alter deck-building strategies, with one user noting that “every little events are interesting” when managing high-stakes resources under pressure. Players must decide exactly when to burn these one-time resources to swing a battle in their favor.
