Short answer: EA FC 26’s latest official football update is Greats of the Game, published by EA on June 19, 2026. It adds new Ultimate Team content, including Mario Kempes and Rivellino ICONs, fresh SBCs, Africa-themed Journey of Nations rewards, a One Nation Live Event and new Festival of Football objectives.
EA Sports FC 26 is EA’s current football simulation game across console and PC storefronts, with official EA links for Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Epic Games Store and Nintendo Switch. The game is no longer branded as FIFA, and EA’s current summer update is not officially called a World Cup update. EA calls it The World’s Game Update, and the newest live content inside that cycle is Greats of the Game.
EA’s Greats of the Game post says Football Ultimate Team is now honouring players who “defined generations of international football.” The headline additions are two new South American ICONs, Mario Kempes and Rivellino. EA also says players can earn themed rewards through Live Events, Squad Building Challenges, Evolutions and other Ultimate Team content.
The timing matters. Greats of the Game went live on June 19, replacing Path to Glory as the second Festival of Football campaign. EA’s wider Festival of Football schedule lists Path to Glory from June 5 to June 19, Greats of the Game from June 19 to June 26, Glory Hunters from June 26 to July 10, Phenoms from July 10 to July 17 and Summer Stars from July 17 to July 24.
Greats of the Game also pushes Journey of Nations into its Africa region. EA says a selection of National Pride Player Items will be released to celebrate footballing heritage across Africa through Player SBCs and Objective rewards. The One Nation Live Event, called Home Colours, asks players to represent their nation and complete challenges for Packs, Tokens and a guaranteed Festival of Football: Greats of the Game Player Pack.
EA lists four Greats of the Game SBCs, three National Pride SBCs and one Showdown SBC tied to Uruguay vs Spain. The update also adds a themed Objective called Greats of the Game: Football Royalty. That objective includes challenges for clean sheets, headers and goals from outside the box. Completing them across any Ultimate Team mode earns Greats of the Game Loan Items and Festival of Football Tokens.
This is not a full gameplay patch by itself, but it sits on top of the larger World’s Game Update, which EA launched on May 28. That update added a 48-team international tournament mode starting June 4, with 53 fully licensed playable national teams. EA says 41 of those nations are competing over the summer.
The tournament format is clear. Players go through three group-stage matches, with the top two teams in each group advancing. The eight best third-placed teams also qualify. The knockout phase begins at the round of 32 and ends with a tournament final. EA lists points, head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, head-to-head goals scored, overall goals scored and overall goal difference as group-stage ranking criteria.
The update also adds international content outside Ultimate Team. More national teams are playable in Kick Off. Career Mode gets the International Men’s Tournament with the same structure and rules as The World’s Game mode. EA also added End of Season Live Starting Points, national-team objectives, Festival of Football ICONs and Heroes, and weekly Manager Live Challenges beginning June 5.
Ultimate Team received the biggest live-service changes. Festival of Football introduced Tokens as a reward type earned through Rivals, Squad Battles, Rush, Live Events, Objectives and SBCs. EA says players can earn up to 1,000 Festival of Football Tokens per week, with 5,000 available across the full event. Tokens are used in a dedicated Store for Player Items, Packs, Evolutions and club customization content.
The update also includes a free Pelé item for eligible players. EA says players who log in and play FC 26 between June 5 and July 24 receive a 93 OVR Festival of Football ICON Pelé and three Choose Your Journey Evolutions. Players start by choosing ST with Low Driven+, CM with Incisive Pass+ or LW/RW with Finesse Shot+. EA says completing all Pelé Evolutions results in a 96 OVR ICON Pelé with 5-Star Skill Moves, 5-Star Weak Foot and four PlayStyles+.
There are gameplay changes in the wider World’s Game Update. EA reduced the boost from Bruiser and Bruiser+, added a matching receiver-side boost for Enforcer and Enforcer+, improved shoulder challenge outcomes and added logic to cancel shoulder challenges from behind. Intercept also changed, allowing players without the Intercept PlayStyle but with a 90+ Interceptions rating to access the same animations as players with the PlayStyle.
Team Press was also adjusted. EA says AI-controlled defenders apply less pressure on the ball carrier when Team Press is active in the defensive half. AI defenders also mark less tightly as the opponent moves closer to goal. EA says attacking-half Team Press behavior remains unchanged.
